Daisy, I am not familiar with the bus/train/ferry in that part of the city, but from my google search results on Translink site the bus stops 430 - 470m from the QBI and the ferry 670m. This link might help you find the best way to get there:  http://jp.translink.com.au/TransLinkJPContainer.asp?NewJ...

Sonnie- if you get the chance I would really try to get to the HD conference in Brisbane next month and have a good heart to heart chat to Jimmy Pollard. If you can't get to Brisbane, send him an email - this is his specialty area and he will know what to do to help your Uncle and get him placed in ...

In Queensland we have the HD clinic set up at the Royal Brisbane hospital that whilst overloaded and underfunded, generally does an excellent job of looking after all HD needs in the one hospital visit - physio, neuro, speech, diet, nutrition, counselling and the like. Huntingtons Queensland also ha...

Hi Jodie and welcome. I am a fellow Queenslander but don't hold that against me Image You have got some excellent responses here, so I just thought I would say hi.

Just wanted to say hi and welcome. I tested in Qld so my experience won't help you, but it is a big decision to make. Make sure you are emotionally ready to tackle it - if you are young and trying to cope with a young family, it might suit you to wait a few years until things settle down??? Once you...

Hey Michelle, I suggested 'choices in having a family' as a topic but they thought it would be a smaller group interested in that and was considering a 'break away' group for it, but I don't think it progressed any further than that - I shall ask the committee at the next meeting. It should be raise...

Sorry to hear about his fall! That in itself must be worrying without stitches and concussion to deal with.  Anything that causes stress is bad for HD but I haven't come across anything specific to concussion - that doesn't mean it wouldn't complicate things further, only that there really wouldn't ...

Hey Daisy - I like easy questions like this one :)    The facility can take 200 people, but the committee will be happy if they get 150. I think it was similar numbers at the last conference in Adelaide but someone else might be able to confirm this.    Hope you can come so I can put a face to your ...

Oh Daisy, I don't envy your position. We had our kids before we found out about HD, so we didn't have to go through such turmoil. I know you will always 2nd guess your decision whichever way you go, it will haunt you for the rest of your life - there simply is no easy or right answer. Like you said,...

Hey Jim, sorry to hear about your circumstances. The official definition of JHD at the moment is a CAG count of 60 or higher, but this is being reviewed down to just 45 in some countries. They have re-analysed past medical records acknowledging nearly half PHD with counts between 45-58 were treated ...

I have attached a copy of the registration form and program, but am not sure if it is the final draft or not. There may be some minor changes to it still, so if you wait until next week before you fill out and submit any forms :o)
